اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.
When to Read
This dua is perfect for saying when you see your spouse struggling with inertia or delay in tasks, especially before they begin something important. You can also make it generally for their well-being and success in all endeavors. Reciting it after Fajr prayer is a highly recommended time for seeking Allah's blessings for the day ahead.
How to Read
Make this dua with sincerity and conviction, picturing your spouse (or yourself, if it's for you) actively engaged and completing tasks with focus. Raise your hands as taught in the Sunnah. Place your hand on your chest or the chest of your spouse (if they are present and receptive) while making dua, symbolizing sincerity and the intention to bring ease. Focus on the meaning of seeking beneficial knowledge to guide their actions, good provision to sustain their efforts, and deeds that are accepted by Allah.
Virtues & Benefits
This concise yet powerful dua, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) when she asked what to say in the morning, encompasses seeking three vital aspects for success in this life and the next. Beneficial knowledge helps one act correctly. Goodly provision allows one to focus on worship and good deeds without undue worry. Acceptable deeds are those performed according to the Shari'ah and with sincerity, which are ultimately what matters for our akhirah. By asking for these for your spouse, you are invoking Allah's help for them to be productive in ways that are pleasing to Him.
