O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from being overwhelmed by debt and being overcome by men.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazani, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasali, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhli, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijali.

Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a comprehensive shield against many spiritual and emotional ailments. By seeking refuge from distress (hamm) and sorrow (hazan), we ask Allah to lift the heavy burdens that weigh on our hearts, especially at night when these feelings can amplify. It also protects us from mental and physical inertia (helplessness and laziness) and character flaws (cowardice and stinginess), ensuring our spiritual well-being. Finally, it seeks protection from overwhelming debt and the oppression of others, two significant sources of earthly worry.
