بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تُرْبَةُ أَرْضِنَا، بِرِيقَةِ بَعْضِنَا، يُشْفَى سَقِيمُنَا، بِإِذْنِ رَبِّنَا.
In the name of Allah, with the soil of our land, and the saliva of some of us, our sick will be healed by the permission of our Lord.
Bismillah, turbatu ardina, riqatu ba'dina, yushfa saqeemunā, bi-idni Rabbina.
When to Read
This powerful dua is recited by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when treating someone with sickness, including afflictions of the skin. It's meant to be said with sincere intention and reliance on Allah while performing the act of seeking healing.
How to Read
This dua is typically recited while placing a hand on the affected area of the skin. It's done by mixing the saliva of the person making the dua (or the patient themselves, if able) with the soil from the surroundings. The act signifies invoking Allah's name and His power to bring about healing, using the natural elements as a means. The focus should be on the profound reliance on Allah's will (bi-idni Rabbina - by the permission of our Lord).
Virtues & Benefits
This dua embodies a holistic approach to healing, acknowledging both the physical means (soil, saliva) and the ultimate divine power. It teaches us to supplicate to Allah for healing from any ailment, especially those that manifest outwardly like skin diseases, and to trust in His decree. The Prophet's ﷺ practice shows us the Sunnah method of seeking cures while maintaining our Tawhid (Oneness of Allah).

Narrated Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): When any of us fell ill, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would rub the affected area with his right hand and say: 'O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the illness, heal it and You are the only Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves behind no disease.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 5743). In another narration, he would mix his saliva with soil and say: 'Bismillah, turbatu ardina, riqatu ba'dina, yushfa saqeemunā, bi-idni Rabbina.' (Sahih Muslim 2194).
