بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تُرْبَةُ أَرْضِنَا، بِرِيقِ بَعْضِنَا، يُشْفَى سَقِيمُنَا، بِإِذْنِ رَبِّنَا
In the name of Allah! The soil of our land, mixed with the saliva of some of us, will heal our sick, by the permission of our Lord.
Bismillahi, turbatu ardina, riqu ba'dina, yushfa saqeemunā, bi'idhn rabbi'nā
When to Read
This dua is recited by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for someone who has a skin ailment or wound. It's beautiful to see how he ﷺ combined tangible elements – the earth and saliva – with the ultimate reliance on Allah's permission for healing. When faced with a skin condition, whether it's a minor rash, a persistent itch, or a more significant wound, you can recite this dua. It's an act of seeking Allah's direct intervention and acknowledging that healing comes solely from Him, even when using earthly means.
How to Read
The practice involves taking some soil from the ground (preferably a clean area), mixing it with the saliva of the person reciting (or another healthy person), and then applying it to the affected skin while reciting this powerful dua. The key is sincerity and conviction in Allah's power. This isn't just a ritual; it's a profound expression of tawakkul (reliance on Allah) while actively seeking a cure. Remember to ensure the soil is as clean as possible to avoid any unintended harm.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua embodies the essence of seeking cure through Allah's power, integrating the physical with the spiritual. It teaches us that even remedies found in nature only work by Allah's decree. By reciting this, we affirm our belief in Allah as the Ultimate Healer, Ar-Rabb (The Lord) who governs all affairs, including our health. It encourages us to use permissible means for treatment while never losing sight of the One who truly grants the cure.

Narrated Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): Whenever one of us had a fever, the Prophet (ﷺ) would not leave his house until he rubbed his hand (on the patient's body) and recited: 'Bismillahi, turbatu ardina, riqu ba'dina, yushfa saqeemunā, bi'idhn rabbi'nā' (In the name of Allah! The soil of our land, mixed with the saliva of some of us, will heal our sick, by the permission of our Lord). (Sahih al-Bukhari 5739). In another narration: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to say when visiting a patient: 'Bismillâhi turbatu ardina, bi rîqati ba'dinâ, yushfâ saqîmunâ, bi idhni Rabbina' (In the name of Allah! The soil of our land, mixed with the saliva of some of us, will heal our sick, by the permission of our Rabb). Sahih Muslim 2194.
