Source & Authentication
Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was suffering from illness, he would recite the Mu'awwidhat (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas) and then blow over himself. When his illness increased, I used to recite them over him and wipe his hand over himself, seeking its blessing. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whenever any one of you is sick, the Sheena (healing) is from Allah, the Exalted, the Everlasting. If any one of you visit a sick person or the sick person is told that he is sick, he should supplicate: Allahumma Rabb an-nas, adz-hibil-ba's, isfi anta ash-shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uka, shifa'an la yughadiru saqama. (O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the affliction, heal him, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no sickness behind.)' (Sahih al-Bukhari 5743, Sahih Muslim 2191). The context here refers to the general supplication for illness, which encompasses severe conditions like internal bleeding where the need for Allah's direct intervention is paramount.
