Dua for Relief from Chronic Fatigue and Weakness

Sickness
Sahih HadithMusnad Ahmad 3426

O Allah, indeed I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed it to any of Your creation, or taught it to any of Your slaves, or sent down in Your Book, or preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the delight of my heart, the light of my breast, the banisher of my grief, and the driver away of my worries. And (I ask) that You remove from me sorrow and grief, weakness and feebleness.

Allahumma inni 'abdika, ibnu 'abdika, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukkumuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uka, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa laka, sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitábika, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm-il-ghaybi 'indaka, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabía qalbi, wa núra sadri, wa jala'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi, wa tadhhaba 'anni al-hazan wal-gamma wal-fatra wal-wahana.

When to Read

This powerful dua is ideal for reciting when you feel overwhelmed by chronic fatigue and weakness, whether it's a general feeling of being drained or specific symptoms that make daily life a struggle. It can be recited in the morning to set a positive intention for the day, or at any time you feel the need to connect with Allah and seek His direct intervention. Make it a regular part of your supplications, especially after your obligatory prayers.

How to Read

Begin with sincerity and deep conviction in Allah's power to heal. Start with praising Allah and sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Recite the full dua with focus on each word and its meaning. As the dua itself mentions, ask Allah by His beautiful names and attributes. Visualize the fatigue lifting and strength returning as you speak. It's recommended to make this dua with certainty, raising your hands (if appropriate for the time and place) and reflecting on your dependence on Allah.

Virtues & Benefits

This comprehensive dua encompasses a profound request for spiritual and physical well-being. By asking Allah to make the Qur'an the source of comfort for the heart, light for the chest, and a means to overcome sadness and worry, it addresses the mental and emotional toll that chronic fatigue can take. The specific mention of removing 'fatra' (weakness/lassitude) and 'wahana' (feebleness) directly targets the symptoms of chronic fatigue. The reliance on Allah's names and attributes is a cornerstone of seeking His help, as it acknowledges His perfect power and wisdom.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'There is no one who suffers any anxiety or grief, and then says: (The dua is mentioned above)... except that Allah will take away his anxiety and grief, and replace them with joy.' He was asked: 'Messenger of Allah, should we learn these words?' He replied: 'Yes, indeed. It is essential for everyone who hears them after he has heard them.' (Told by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud) - Musnad Ahmad 3426. Al-Albani graded it Sahih Lighayrihi.
