بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing can cause harm in the earth nor in the heavens, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
Bismillahilladhi la yaduru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem
When to Read
This powerful supplication is for general protection against all forms of harm, including exposure to harmful chemicals, poisons, or anything that could be detrimental to our health. It is recommended to recite it in the morning after Fajr prayer and in the evening before Maghrib prayer, as taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, believing in Allah's power to protect. It's recommended to say it three times in the morning and three times in the evening. You can also recite it before encountering potentially hazardous environments or substances.
Virtues & Benefits
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Whoever says this three times in the morning, will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until the evening; and whoever says it three times in the evening, will not be afflicted by any calamity until the morning.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 3867). This hadith highlights the immense protective power of this dua against unforeseen dangers, which can certainly encompass the effects of chemical exposure.

Narrated by Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'He who says: 'Bismillahilladhi la yaduru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem' (In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing can cause harm in the earth nor in the heavens, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing) - three times, will not be afflicted by any calamity suddenly until morning comes, and whoever says it in the morning three times, will not be afflicted by calamity suddenly until evening comes.'
