It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that a man came to the Prophet ๏ทบ and said: "O Messenger of Allah, what has he encountered from the stinging pain of this scorpion?" He said: "As for the one who recited the words when he reached the evening: 'I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created' (A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq), it would not have harmed him." Another version narrated by Abu Hurayrah states: "A man came to the Prophet ๏ทบ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I was stung by a scorpion during the night.' He said: 'If you had said, when evening came: A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created), it would not have harmed you.'" (Sahih Muslim 2708)
