O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove this suffering, heal him, for You are the Healer. There is no healing but Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness behind.
Allahumma Rabb an-nas, adh-hibil-ba's, ishfi anta ash-Shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uka, shifa'an la yughadiru saqama.
When to Read
This powerful dua is recited when a person is suffering from any illness, particularly when that sickness feels like a consequence of oppression or injustice. It's a comprehensive supplication for relief from any ailment, acknowledging Allah as the ultimate source of healing. It can be recited by the afflicted person, or by someone else on their behalf, like a family member or friend.
How to Read
The Sunnah method is to place your hand on the part of the body that hurts, recite the dua seven times, and say after the seventh time: 'A'udhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhiru' (I seek refuge in Allah and His Power from the evil of what I feel and what I fear). It is also recommended to read Surah Al-Fatihah and blow on yourself or the affected area, as it is considered the greatest cure in Islam.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a direct teaching of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for seeking healing from Allah. It affirms Tawhid (Oneness of Allah) by attributing the act of healing solely to Him, moving the heart away from reliance on anything else. When sickness stems from injustice, this dua is especially poignant as it appeals to the Lord of all humanity, seeking His mercy and correction against any wrong that may have led to the suffering.

(Bismillah. Seven times: A'udhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhiru.)
