Sickness
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 5743

O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove this suffering, heal it. You are the Healer; there is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness behind.

Allahumma adh-hibil-ba's, Rabban-nas, ishfi antash-Shaafi, la shifaa'a illa shifaa'uka, shifaa'an la yughadiru saqaman.

Virtues & Benefits

This powerful dua, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, carries immense blessings for seeking healing. It directly addresses Allah as the 'Lord of mankind,' acknowledging His dominion over all people and His ability to cure any affliction. The phrase 'You are the Healer' affirms Allah's unique role as the ultimate source of health, and asking for 'a healing that leaves no illness behind' is a comprehensive plea for complete recovery. By reciting this, we are following the Sunnah and drawing closer to Allah through earnest supplication, a fundamental aspect of our faith.

Source & Authentication

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to teach us this dua when one of us complained of a pain in any part of his body. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Place your hand on the part where you feel pain in your body and say: Allahumma adh-hibil-ba's, Rabban-nas, ishfi antash-Shaafi, la shifaa'a illa shifaa'uka, shifaa'an la yughadiru saqaman.' (O Allah, Lord of the people, remove the adversity, heal it, for there is no healer except You, (so heal) a healing that does not leave (any) disease.)
