O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, and I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and from being overcome by men.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazani, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasali, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijal.

Virtues & Benefits
This comprehensive dua addresses several key areas that can lead to sadness and struggle: 'distress and sorrow' (al-hamm wal-hazan) acknowledge the emotional pain. 'Helplessness and laziness' ('al-'ajzi wal-kasal) address the inability to act and the lack of motivation that often accompanies sadness. 'Cowardice and stinginess' (al-jubni wal-buhl) touch upon character flaws that can hinder one's progress and well-being.
