O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, that You have taught to any one of Your creation, or have revealed in Your Book, or have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Quran the delight of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the reliever of my anxieties.
Allahumma inni 'abduka, ibnu 'abdika, ibnu amatika, nasiyatii biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uka, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa laka, sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitābika, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm al-ghaybi 'indaka, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jila'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi

A companion once came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'O Allah’s Messenger! I feel a kind of sadness and a host of worries.' The Prophet ﷺ replied, 'O servant of Allah! Say: O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, that You have taught to any one of Your creation, or have revealed in Your Book, or have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Quran the delight of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the reliever of my anxieties.' The companion said, 'I said these words, and Allah removed my sadness and worries.' (Reported by Ahmad, and authenticated by Al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami' as-Saghir no. 4021)
