O Allah, grant us a happy life, a death of martyrdom, and a return (to You) without disgrace or scandal. O Allah, do not leave any sin for us except that You forgive it, nor any worry except that You relieve it, nor any debt except that You repay it, nor any sick person except that You heal him, nor any afflicted person except that You grant him well-being, nor any dead person except that You have mercy upon him, nor any need for which You are pleased and which is good for us, except that You fulfill it, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
Allahumma 'eeshatan sa'eedatan, wa mītatan shaheedatan, wa rujū'an ghayra mukhzin wa lā fāḍiḥin. It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'A man came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, teach me some words to say when I ask of Allah.' He said: 'Say: Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afwa wal-'afiyata fid-dunya wal-akhirah. Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afwa wa 'afiyataka fi deeni wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahumma-stur 'awrati wa amin raw'ati. Allahumma-hfadhni min bayni yadayya wa min khalfi wa 'an yamini wa 'an shimāli wa min fawqi, wa a'udhu bika an ughtala min taḥti. (O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being concerning my religion, my worldly affairs, my family and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my defects and secure me from what I fear. O Allah, protect me from before me and from behind me, from my right and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in You from being taken from beneath me.)' Then a man came to him and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, teach me some words to say to Allah.' He said: 'Say: O Allah, grant me a happy life, a death of martyrdom, and a return (to You) without disgrace or scandal. O Allah, do not leave any sin for us except that You forgive it, nor any worry except that You relieve it, nor any debt except that You repay it, nor any sick person except that You heal him, nor any afflicted person except that You grant him well-being, nor any dead person except that You have mercy upon him, nor any need for which You are pleased and which is good for us, except that You fulfill it, O Most Merciful of the merciful.' (This latter part is the dua included in the entry).
