O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and sadness, and I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from being overwhelmed by debt and from the overpowering of men.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazani, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasali, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhli, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijali.

Virtues & Benefits

This comprehensive dua covers seeking refuge from some of the most debilitating spiritual and emotional states. By reciting it, you are actively asking Allah to protect you from: - **Worry and Sadness (Al-Hammi wal-Hazani):** The internal burdens that can cloud the heart and mind, hindering clarity and spiritual connection. - **Helplessness and Laziness (Al-'Ajzi wal-Kasali):** These prevent one from acting, striving, and fulfilling obligations, including those related to faith. - **Cowardice and Stinginess (Al-Jubni wal-Bukhli):** Traits that can lead to neglecting duty and failing to support good causes or people. - **Debt and Domination (Ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijali):** The practical hardships that can oppress a person and make life extremely difficult. Seeking Allah's refuge from these ills is a proactive step towards spiritual well-being and resilience, enabling a more inspired and focused approach to life and faith.
