O Allah, I ask You by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation. Keep me alive as long as You know that life is better for me, and cause me to die when You know that death is better for me. O Allah, I ask You to instil in me Your fear in private and in public. I ask You for the word of truth when I am pleased and when I am angry. I ask You for moderation in poverty and wealth. I ask You for everlasting bliss and for the coolness of my eyes that never ceases. I ask You for contentment after Your decree, and for a pleasant life after death. I ask You for the delight of looking at Your Face, and for the eagerness to meet You, without any harmful distress or misleading trials. O Allah, adorn us with the adornment of faith, and make us guides who are guided. O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and contentment.
Allahumma inni as'aluka bi'ilmikal-ghaibi wa qudratika 'alal-khalqi ahini ma 'alimtal-hayata khayran li, wa tawaffani idha 'alimtal-wafata khayran li. Allahumma inni as'aluka khashyataka fil-ghaibi wash-shahadati, wa as'aluka kalimatil-haqqi fir-rida wal-ghadabi, wa as'aluka al-qasida fil-faqri wal-ghina, wa as'aluka na'iman la yanfadu, wa as'aluka qurrata 'ainin la tanqati', wa as'aluka ar-rida ba'dal-qada'i, wa as'aluka barda al-'ayshi ba'dal-mauti, wa as'aluka ladhdhatan-nadhaari ila wajhikal, wash-shawqa ila liqa'ika, fi ghairi dharra'in mudirratin, wa la fitnatin mudillatin.
