O Allah, indeed I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is forever executed. Your decision regarding me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to any of Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the reliever of my distress.
Allahumma inni 'abd Laka, ibnu 'abdika, ibnu amatika, nasiyati bi-yadika, madin fiyya hukkumuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uk, as'aluka bi-kulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitubika, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm il-ghaybi 'indaka, an taj'ala l-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jala'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.
