Repentance & Tawbah
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 771

O Allah, forgive me my sin, all of it. Its small and its great, its first and its last, its open and its secret.

Allahumma-ghfir li dhambi kullahu, diqqahu wa jillahu, awwalahu wa akhirahu, 'alaniyatahu wa sirrahu

When to Read

This is a profound and comprehensive dua for seeking Allah's forgiveness. It's especially fitting to recite during the night, after obligatory prayers, or at any time you feel the weight of your sins or negligence. Think of it as a daily reset for your heart and soul, ensuring you are constantly turning back to your Creator.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and a heartfelt desire for Allah's forgiveness. Imagine your sins being lifted as you utter the words. Raise your hands in supplication, as is the Sunnah, and reflect on the vastness of Allah's mercy and the importance of acknowledging all aspects of our mistakes – the big and the small, the public and the private. Let it be a moment of deep connection with Allah.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a powerful tool for purification. By asking Allah to forgive *all* our sins, in their entirety, we are acknowledging our complete reliance on His mercy. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this comprehensive supplication, showing its importance in seeking a complete cleansing of the heart. It helps us move past feelings of despair and actively engage in repentance (tawbah), remembering that Allah loves those who turn back to Him. The Quran reminds us: 'And seek forgiveness of your Lord and then turn to Him. My Lord is Merciful and Loving.' (Hud 11:90)
