Ramadan & Fasting

There are three whose supplication is not rejected: the fasting person when he breaks his fast, the just ruler, and the supplication of the oppressed person. Allah raises it above the clouds, and the gates of heaven are opened for it. And the Lord, Glorified is He, says: 'By My Might, I will surely support you, even if it is after some time.'

When to Read

This applies specifically to the dua made by a fasting person at the moment of breaking their fast. It's a precious window of opportunity when our prayers are particularly likely to be accepted. Imagine the feeling of thirst and hunger fading as you prepare to eat – pour your heart out to Allah at that very moment.

How to Read

The key is sincerity and conviction. While there isn't a specific set of words mandated here, the hadith emphasizes the *state* of the fasting person. Make your dua with a humble heart, with certainty that Allah hears you, and with a clear intention. You can pray for yourself, your family, the Ummah, or any valid need. This is not a time for trivial requests; focus on what truly matters.

Virtues & Benefits

The hadith explicitly states that the dua of the fasting person is not rejected. This is a profound promise from Allah, highlighting the immense value and spiritual weight of fasting. It's a chance to seek forgiveness, ask for guidance, request provision, or plead for relief, knowing that Allah is listening attentively and is ready to respond. The mention of the oppressed person's dua also being raised to Allah emphasizes the justice of our Lord, who hears even those who have no one else to turn to.
