O Allah, these are the days of Eid al-Adha, so bless me in them, help me with my sacrifice, and accept it from me.
Allahumma inna hadhihi ayyam al-Adha, fa barik li fiha wa a'inni 'ala adahiyya, wa qabbil minni.
When to Read
This dua is particularly relevant for the night before Eid al-Adha, and throughout the days of Eid. It's a time when Muslims prepare for and offer their sacrifice (Qurbani/Udhiyah). Reciting this invokes Allah's blessings on this significant act of worship and the days themselves.
How to Read
Recite with sincerity and intention. Place your hand on your chest, focusing on the blessings of these days and your act of sacrifice. It can be recited individually or with family, fostering a shared sense of devotion. Raising your hands can be done for supplication, though it's not a strict requirement for every dua.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua seeks Allah's barakah (blessings) in the specific days of Eid al-Adha. It also asks for divine assistance in fulfilling the obligation of sacrifice and, crucially, for the acceptance of this act of worship. Seeking acceptance is vital, as the Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ taught that 'Indeed, Allah does not look at your bodies, nor at your forms, but He looks at your hearts and your actions' (Sahih Muslim 2077).
