Dua for Eid ul-Fitr: Embracing the Blessing After Ramadan

Ramadan & Fasting
Hasan HadithSunan Abi Dawud 5071

O Allah, I ask You for the good of this day: its victory, its help, its light, its blessings, and its guidance. And I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil of what comes after it.

Allahumma inni as'aluka khayra hadha al-yawm, fat-hahu wa nasrahu wa noorahu wa barakatahu wa hudahu, wa a'udhu bika min sharri hadha al-yawm wa sharri ma ba'dahu.

It sets a positive and protected tone for your Eid celebration.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Do not preempt Ramadan (by fasting before it starts) or break (the fast) after it, but two days before it, and two days after it, are not days of prohibition. (When you enter a new day) say: Allahumma inni as'aluka khayra hadha al-yawm, fat-hahu wa nasrahu wa noorahu wa barakatahu wa hudahu, wa a'udhu bika min sharri hadha al-yawm wa sharri ma ba'dahu.' (When you enter a new morning) say: 'O Allah, I ask You for the good of this day: its victory, its help, its light, its blessings, and its guidance. And I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil of what comes after it.'
