This highlights its efficacy as a daily protection.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Whoever says: 'A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq' (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created), then nothing will harm him until he leaves his resting place.' Muslim did not mention: 'until he leaves his resting place.' It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what a night I had last night!' He said: 'What a night?' He said: 'I was stung by a scorpion.' He said: 'If you had said, when evening came: 'A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq' (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created), then it would not have harmed you.'
