Seeking Allah's Refuge from the Evil Eye (Nazar)

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq

When to Read

This powerful dua is a shield against the harmful effects of the evil eye, which stems from envy or admiration without mentioning Allah's name. It's recommended to recite it regularly, especially when you feel vulnerable, see something you admire, or are concerned about potential envy directed towards yourself, your family, or your possessions. It can be read in the morning and evening, and before sleeping.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere belief in Allah's power and protection. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to recite it three times in the morning and evening. When reciting it for protection, you can also gently blow onto yourself or the person/object you wish to protect after each recitation, accompanied by sincere supplication.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Whoever says in the morning three times: 'I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created,' then nothing will harm him that day.' And whoever says it in the evening three times, then nothing will harm him that night.'
