Virtues & Benefits

This dua directly addresses the heart, the seat of belief and intention. By asking Allah to 'turn' hearts and keep ours 'firm,' we acknowledge that our faith and steadfastness are ultimately in His hands. It helps guard against internal doubts and external influences that can lead to misguidance and falling into temptation. The Prophet's ﷺ constant supplication highlights its importance for everyone, as no one is immune to life's trials and the subtle whispers of Shaytan.

Narrated by Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-'As (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: 'Indeed, the hearts of the Children of Adam are between the fingers of the Most Merciful, like one heart. He turns them however He wills.' Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'O Allah, Turner of hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.' (Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3522). The narrator also mentioned that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to say this dua frequently.
