The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Whoever says: *'A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq'* (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created), then nothing will harm him until he enters his home.' Umm Khalid bint Khalid narrated: 'I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at his home. I saw him wearing a garment that had some white color on it. I started looking at the white of his leg (or his shank), and he said: 'O young boy, do you think that I do not wear clothes?' Then he said: 'Do you know what is white?' I said: 'Clothes.' He said: 'This is the Arabic garment (a kind of cloak).' He then said: 'I have said: *'A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq'*.' (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.) It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I was stung by a scorpion last night.' He said: 'If you had said, when evening came: *'A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq'* (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created), then it would not have harmed you.' This narration is found in Sahih Muslim, Book 30, Hadith 2708.
