My Lord, make me an establishers of prayer, and [also] from my offspring. Our Lord, and accept [this] dua.

Rabbi-j'alni muqim-as-salati wa min dhurriyyati, Rabbana wa taqabbal du'a.

When to Read

This profound dua from Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) is perfect for reciting any time, especially when reflecting on our responsibilities as parents or guardians. We can make it part of our daily supplications, perhaps after our prayers, asking Allah to keep us steadfast in our own worship and to bless our children with the same guidance and protection.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and a heart full of hope in Allah's mercy. As it's from the Quran, its recitation is a form of worship in itself. Focus on the meaning: asking Allah to establish prayer in your life and in the lives of your descendants, and for your supplications to be accepted. Imagine Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) making this earnest request to his Lord.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encapsulates the deep concern of a prophet for his lineage, seeking not just their worldly well-being but their spiritual steadfastness. By reciting it, we emulate a noble example and ask Allah to make our children pillars of prayer and righteous individuals. It's a powerful way to seek Allah's continuous blessing and protection for generations to come. The acceptance of dua itself is a immense blessing, as highlighted by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): 'The dua is the weapon of the believer.' (Reported by Al-Hakim and authenticated by Al-Albani).
