Dua for Safeguarding Iman (Faith)

Protection
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2660

يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ

O Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.

Ya muqallib al-quloob, thabbit qalbi 'ala deenik

When to Read

This is a profound supplication that should be a regular part of our daily duas. We can recite it at any time, but it's particularly meaningful during the quiet moments of the night, after prayers, or whenever we feel our conviction wavering. It's an acknowledgement of our dependence on Allah for the strength of our faith, especially in times of trial or confusion. Think of reciting it each morning as you prepare for the day's challenges, or at night as you reflect on your journey.

How to Read

Recite this with sincere intention and deep reflection on its meaning. Understand that Allah alone has the power to guide and stabilize hearts. Picture your heart as a vessel that needs to be anchored firmly to the Deen (religion). Raise your hands slightly, as was the practice of the Prophet ﷺ when making dua, and pour your heart out to Allah, the Master of the hearts.

Virtues & Benefits

The primary benefit of this dua is the strengthening and steadfastness of one's Iman. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, despite being the most righteous of creation, would constantly turn to Allah to keep him firm. This teaches us humility and the necessity of continuous reliance on Allah for spiritual resilience. By making this dua, we actively seek Allah's help in navigating the complexities of life and remaining true to our beliefs, thus protecting our most precious possession: our faith.

Source & Authentication
