How to Read
Recite this dua sincerely, with conviction in your heart that Allah is the One who protects. Virtues & Benefits
By asking Allah to grant well-being ('afiyah) in our hearing and sight, we are essentially seeking protection from hearing harmful things, seeing impermissible matters, or losing these precious senses altogether. 'Afiyah encompasses protection from all forms of afflictions and trials, both physical and spiritual. This dua is a testament to the comprehensive nature of the Prophet's teachings, covering essential aspects of our daily lives and well-being.

‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to supplicate: 'O Allah, grant me well-being in my body. O Allah, grant me well-being in my hearing. O Allah, grant me well-being in my sight. There is no god but You. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. There is no god but You.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 5088, Sahih)
