O Allah, I ask You to enable me to do good deeds and abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor, and that You forgive me and have mercy on me. And if You intend to try Your creation with trials, then take me to Yourself without affliction.
Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'la khayratika, wa tark munakaratika, wa hubb al-masakin, wa an taghfira li wa tarhamani, wa idha aradta fi khalqika fitnatan fa tawaffani ilayka ghayra maftoon.

Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates a comprehensive request for spiritual well-being. It asks for the ability to perform good, a crucial element for a Muslim's life, and the strength to abstain from evil, which is our constant struggle. The request to love the poor reflects a desire for empathy and a detachment from materialism. Most importantly, it includes a profound plea for Allah to protect us from falling victim to trials and tribulations (fitna), even asking for death before being tested in a way that leads us astray. This shows the immense value placed on maintaining one's faith intact until the very end.

It was narrated from `Abdullah bin `Amr that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in the affair, and I ask You for a resolve to follow guidance, and I ask You for the gratitude for Your bounty, and good worship of You. And I ask You for a sound heart, and I ask You for a truthful tongue. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what you know, and I ask You for the good of what You know, and I seek forgiveness from You for what you know. O Allah, I ask You for the good of what You know, and for the good of what is with You, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You know, and from the evil of what is with You. And I seek refuge in You from the evil of what you have created." He said: "And it was narrated from him (the Prophet) that he said: 'O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in the affair, and I ask You for a resolve to follow guidance, and I ask You for the gratitude for Your bounty, and good worship of You. And I ask You for a sound heart, and I ask You for a truthful tongue. I ask You for the best of what You know, and I seek refuge in You from the worst of what You know, and I seek refuge in You from Your causing me to fall into trials. And I ask You for the best of what You know, and for the best of what is with You, and I seek refuge in You from the worst of what You know, and from the worst of what is with You.'" Another narration from the Prophet (ﷺ) was: "O Allah, I ask You to enable me to do good deeds and abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor, and that You forgive me and have mercy on me. And if You intend to try Your creation with trials, then take me to Yourself without affliction." (Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3234).
