O Allah, I seek refuge in You from being crushed to death, I seek refuge in You from falling from a height, I seek refuge in You from drowning, from burning, from extreme old age, and I seek refuge in You from being tormented by Shaytan at the time of death, and I seek refuge in You from dying while retreating from battle (in Your cause), and I seek refuge in You from dying from a poisonous sting.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hadmi, wa a'udhu bika minat-taraddi, wa a'udhu bika minal-gharqi, wal-haraqi, wal-harami, wa a'udhu bika an yatakhabbaṭani ash-shayṭanu 'indal-mawt, wa a'udhu bika an amuta fi sabilika mudbiran, wa a'udhu bika an amuta ladigha.
When to Read
This comprehensive dua is excellent to recite in the morning and evening, as part of your remembrance of Allah (dhikr). It's particularly relevant when you feel vulnerable or are contemplating the various dangers and misfortunes that can befall a person, including those that might lead to isolation or a solitary demise.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and a heart that truly believes in Allah's power to protect. Raise your hands slightly as you supplicate, and say it with conviction. Understanding the meaning of each phrase helps in connecting with the supplication. Make it a regular habit, perhaps after Fajr and Asr prayers, or whenever you seek Allah's refuge.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates seeking refuge from numerous physical and spiritual dangers. While not directly mentioning 'isolation,' the seeking of refuge from dying 'while retreating' and being 'tormented by Shaytan at the time of death' can indirectly relate to facing difficult situations alone. It acknowledges the reality of life's perils and turns to the ultimate Protector. By seeking refuge from these specific misfortunes, one is also seeking a dignified end, often within the community and family, rather than in a state of distress or abandonment.
