Protection
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2739

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the disappearance of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all of Your displeasure.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa fuja'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhitik.

When to Read

This dua is profoundly relevant when you feel the sting of unfair judgment, or when you anticipate facing such a situation. It's a powerful supplication to invoke when people misinterpret your intentions, spread rumors, or hold biased opinions against you. Recite it regularly for general protection against all forms of Allah's displeasure, which can manifest as unfair outcomes or harsh judgments from creation.

How to Read

Recite this dua sincerely, with full conviction in Allah's power to protect. Raise your hands slightly, as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us for supplication, and focus on the meaning. Understand that seeking refuge in Allah is the ultimate shield against all harm, including the emotional and social damage caused by unfair judgment. This supplication is best recited in the morning and evening, as it's part of the recommended Sunnah for seeking comprehensive protection.

Virtues & Benefits

While this specific dua doesn't directly mention 'unfair judgment' as a keyword, its comprehensiveness offers profound protection. By seeking refuge from the 'disappearance of blessings,' 'change of protection,' and 'suddenness of punishment,' you are essentially asking Allah to shield you from outcomes that would result from His displeasure, which can certainly include being judged harshly or unfairly by others. When Allah is pleased with you, He guides your affairs, protects you from harm, and often influences the hearts of people to view you favorably, or at least to be just. This dua cultivates reliance on Allah and reminds us that ultimate justice and protection come only from Him.

An-Nawwas bin Sam'an Al-Silmi (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'The religion is sincerity.' We said: 'To whom?' He said: 'To Allah, His Book, His Messenger, the leaders of the Muslims, and their common people.' And the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also taught this dua: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the disappearance of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all of Your displeasure.'
