The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ explicitly stated the immense benefit of this dua: 'Whoever says this three times in the morning will be protected from the jinn until evening, and whoever says it three times in the evening will be protected from them until morning.' (Sahih Muslim 2708). This protection extends beyond just jinn, covering all forms of evil and harm. It’s a cornerstone for seeking Allah’s safeguard in our daily lives.

Source & Authentication

Hammām ibn Munabbih reported: This is what Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) narrated to us from his Lord, the Mighty and Majestic: '... Allah created Adam, and Adam was the best of Allah’s creation. Allah said: 'O Adam, go and greet that company of angels... and listen to what they greet you with, for that will be your greeting and the greeting of your offspring.' Adam went away and said: 'As-salamu alaykum.' The angels said: 'As-salamu alayka wa rahmatullah.' They added these words: 'wa rahmatullah.' Everything that was with Adam went with him (in his progeny). One of the companions who narrated the hadith said: 'The people of Paradise will enter Paradise, and the people of Hell will enter Hell. Then the Record of deeds will be brought and on that Day there will be the like of these (acts of disobedience). And on that Day, there will be the like of these (rewards for obedience). Abu Huraira narrated it that he heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying: 'There is no servant who says in the morning of each day and the evening of each night: 'A'udhu bikalimatillahi at-tammati min sharri ma khalaq' (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He created), but it will cause no harm whatsoever.' Hammām said: 'Abu Salih used not to mention these words, but these words were narrated by Abu al-Bara'. And Abu Salih narrated it from Abu Huraira that he reported the Prophet (ﷺ) the like of this.'
