When to Read

This powerful dua is recommended to be recited when you find yourself in a situation where you might encounter wild animals or harmful insects, such as when traveling through forests, deserts, or areas known for such creatures. It's also a good general protection dua to make regularly, especially before venturing into unfamiliar natural environments. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this supplication as a comprehensive protection against all kinds of evil.

How to Read

Recite this dua three times in the morning and three times in the evening. While the hadith doesn't specify a particular posture, it's best to recite it with sincerity, contemplating the meaning of seeking refuge in Allah's perfect words. Imagine His vast power encompassing all creation, and how His words are the ultimate shield against any harm.

Virtues & Benefits

Reciting this dua provides comprehensive protection from all types of created evils, including harmful animals and insects. When recited in the morning and evening, as taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, it serves as a potent shield, safeguarding the believer from dangers that might otherwise befall them. The Prophet ﷺ stated that whoever recites this, nothing will harm him until he moves from that place (Sahih Muslim 2708).
