اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ أَهْلِهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا جَبَلْتَنِي عَلَيْهِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ أَهْلِهَا وَشَرِّ مَا جَبَلْتَنِي عَلَيْهِ

O Allah, I ask You for its (the matter's) goodness, and the goodness of what is within it, and the goodness of what You have decreed for it. And I seek refuge in You from its evil, and the evil of what is within it, and the evil of what You have decreed for it.

Allahumma inni as'aluka khayraha wa khayra ahliha wa khayra ma jabaltani 'alayhi, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ahliha wa sharri ma jabaltani 'alayhi.

Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Prophet (ﷺ) intended to undertake any matter, he would say: ‘Allahumma inna nastahdinika bi’ilmika, wa nastaqdiruka bi qudratika, wa nas’aluka min fadlikal-‘adheem, fa innaka taqdiru wa la naqdiru, wa ta’lamu wa la na’lamu, wa anta ‘allamul-ghuyoub. Allahumma in kunta ta’lamu anna hadhal-amra khayrun li fi deeni wa ma’ashi wa ‘aaqibati amri – fa-qdurhu li wa yassirhu li thumma baarik li feeh. Wa in kunta ta’lamu anna hadhal-amra sharun li fi deeni wa ma’ashi wa ‘aaqibati amri – fasrifhu ‘anni wasrifni ‘anhu waqdur li al-khayra haithu kana thumma ardhini bih.’ And Hudhayfah narrated a similar narration from the Prophet (ﷺ) concerning the marriage of a young man, saying: ‘Allahumma khayraha wa khayra ma jabaltaha ‘alayhi wa sharraha wa sharra ma jabaltaha ‘alayhi.’ And if he was pleased with something, he would say: ‘Alhamdulillah.’ And if he was displeased with something, he would say: ‘Subhanak Allahumma wa bihamdik, la ilaha illa anta.’
