Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

When to Read
Ayat al-Kursi is a powerful verse to recite at various times for protection. It is highly recommended to read it after every obligatory prayer (Salat) for immense benefits, including warding off evil and entering Paradise. It's also a cornerstone of morning and evening remembrance (Adhkar), safeguarding you throughout the day and night. Many scholars advise reciting it before sleeping for protection during the night. Think of it as your personal, constant connection to Allah's guardianship.
How to Read
Recite Ayat al-Kursi with sincerity and firm belief in Allah's power and protection. Focus on the meaning of the verses as you recite them. Ensure you are in a state of purity (Wudu) if possible, though it is permissible to recite it without Wudu. The key is the intention and the conviction that Allah (SWT) is the ultimate protector.
Virtues & Benefits
The benefits of reciting Ayat al-Kursi are profound and well-documented. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated that whoever recites it after every obligatory prayer, nothing stands between him and entering Paradise except death. (Sahih al-Nasa'i 1303). It is also mentioned that reciting it when going to bed will cause Allah to appoint a guardian for you so that Shaytan cannot come near you. (Sahih al-Bukhari 5010). This single verse encapsulates Tawhid (Oneness of Allah) and His supreme authority, making it a potent weapon against spiritual and physical harm.
Source & Authentication
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked him (Abu Hurayrah), 'Do you know what the verse from the Book of Allah that you recite most often is?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'What is it?' I recited: 'Allah! None has the right to be worshipped but He, the Ever Living, the Sustainer of all.' (Ayat al-Kursi). So he (peace be upon him) said, 'Rejoice! By Allah, you will have knowledge, or your knowledge will have... May Allah grant you knowledge of the Book.' Abu Hurayrah added: 'Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, 'By Allah, the verse of the Kursi has a tongue and two lips, and it sanctifies the King (Allah)!' (This narration emphasizes the divine power and significance of the verse).
