โœฆ

O Most Merciful of the merciful!

Ya Arhamar-Rahimeen

When to Read

Recite this dua frequently when you feel overwhelmed by your newborn's crying, exhaustion, and the lack of sleep. It's particularly helpful during those long, difficult nights when colic seems relentless. Keep it in your heart and on your lips whenever you feel your patience waning.

How to Read

Turn to Allah with sincerity and humility. Raise your hands if you can, or place your hand on your chest over your heart. Focus on the meaning of 'Ya Arhamar-Rahimeen' โ€“ the One who is supremely compassionate and merciful. Believe that He hears your plea and will grant you the strength and relief you need. You can repeat this short phrase many times, allowing it to permeate your heart.

Virtues & Benefits

Calling upon Allah by His attribute of Arhamar-Rahimeen is a powerful way to connect with His infinite mercy. When we acknowledge His supreme mercy, we open ourselves to receiving it. This dua reminds parents that they are not alone in their struggle and that the Most Merciful is present to support them through this challenging phase. It cultivates reliance on Allah (Tawakkul) and fosters inner peace amidst chaos. The Quran states concerning the plea of Prophet Musa (peace be upon him): "He said, 'My Lord, forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.'" (Al-A'raf 7:151), showing that seeking Allah's mercy is a prophetic practice.
