When to Read

This dua is perfect for when you notice your parents seeming a bit down or losing interest in things they once loved. It's about asking Allah to bless them with renewed energy and a vibrant spirit, not just for worldly pursuits, but for the good they do and the joy they find in life's simple pleasures. You can make this dua any time, but it's especially poignant when you're spending quality time with them, observing their mood, or after a prayer when your heart is most open.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and a heartfelt connection to your parents. Picture them healthy, happy, and engaged in activities that bring them joy. Raise your hands in supplication, as is the practice when making dua. Ensure you are in a state of purity if possible, though sincerity is the primary requirement. Repeat it regularly, especially during the times when supplications are more readily accepted, like after obligatory prayers or on a Friday.

Virtues & Benefits

This verse, spoken by Prophet Zakariya (peace be upon him), is a profound request for righteous offspring. While the immediate context is about children, the underlying principle is asking Allah for blessings that bring life and good. For parents, this translates to asking Allah to bestow upon them a renewed passion for life, a vibrant spirit, and the health and inclination to enjoy their hobbies and activities. It’s about seeking Allah’s blessing for them to feel energized, purposeful, and happy. It’s a beautiful way to express love and care for them through sincere supplication, seeking the ultimate source of all well-being.
