When to Read
This dua is deeply relevant when we see our own parents, who are now grandparents, dedicating their time and energy to helping us raise our children. Recite it during moments of reflection, after prayers, or when you witness their selfless devotion.
How to Read
This is a beautiful supplication from the Quran, taught by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Recite it with sincerity, focusing on the intention of seeking Allah's assistance for your parents and their role as caregivers. Raising children, even grandchildren, requires immense patience and strength. This dua acknowledges that and asks for Allah's support to be granted to your parents, making their task lighter and more rewarding.
Virtues & Benefits
By reciting this dua, we are fulfilling a vital duty of kindness and respect towards our parents (birr al-walidayn). It's an acknowledgment of their invaluable contribution to our families and an act of seeking Allah's blessings upon them. Allah responds to the sincere supplications of His servants, and asking for ease and acceptance for our parents in their noble role is a worthy request. It also seeks to make them, and by extension, our own offspring, steadfast in prayer, a cornerstone of a righteous life.
