Marriage & Wedding
QuranQuran 3:38

رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ

My Lord, grant me from Yourself, pure offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.

Rabbi hab li mil-ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibatan innaka samee'ud-du'a

When to Read

This dua is particularly relevant when you notice a spouse exhibiting stubbornness, a refusal to listen to advice, or a tendency to act against wise counsel. It's a prayer for guidance and a softening of hearts, aiming to foster a more harmonious and receptive relationship. Recite it with sincerity during times of personal reflection, after prayers, or whenever you feel the need to invoke Allah's help in resolving such marital challenges.

How to Read

Recite this beautiful supplication from the Quran with full conviction and sincerity. Focus on the meaning of the words, asking Allah to grant your spouse a pure and receptive heart. Imagine the positive changes you wish to see in your relationship. It's beneficial to raise your hands slightly while making dua, as is the Sunnah, and to conclude by wiping your face, following the Prophet's ﷺ practice.

Virtues & Benefits

This ayah, recited by Prophet Zakariyya (peace be upon him), is a powerful plea for righteous descendants and, by extension, for righteous characters within a family. When we adapt it to ask for our spouse to be receptive to good counsel, we are essentially asking for their well-being and the betterment of our shared life. Allah (SWT) promises to hear the dua of those who turn to Him. This supplication fosters humility and reliance on Allah, acknowledging that true change comes from Him. It encourages us to seek divine assistance rather than relying solely on our own efforts.
