اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي وَاهْدِ لِي وَارْزُقْنِي رُشْدِي

O Allah! Guide me and guide for me (my spouse/family) and grant me righteousness.

Allahumma ihdini wa-hdili warzuqni rushdi

When to Read

This is a comprehensive dua that can be recited regularly, especially during times of marital difficulty or when you observe signs of jealousy or insecurity in your spouse. Make it a habit to say this dua after every prayer (Salat) or during your personal supplications (dua).

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and deep conviction. Raise your hands in supplication as you would for any other dua. Imagine Allah's mercy encompassing you and your spouse. Focus on the meaning and ask Allah to soften your spouse's heart, remove their insecurities, and grant them peace. You can also gently encourage your spouse to recite this dua themselves if they are receptive.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua, though brief, is incredibly powerful. The first part, 'Allahumma ihdini' (O Allah! Guide me), is a fundamental request for personal guidance. 'Wa-hdili' (and guide for me) can be understood as asking Allah to guide those who are under your care, including your spouse. The final part, 'warzuqni rushdi' (and grant me righteousness), is a request for uprightness and sound judgment. When directed towards overcoming marital issues like jealousy and insecurity, this dua seeks Allah's divine intervention to bring understanding, trust, and righteous behavior into the relationship. It acknowledges that ultimate success in rectifying such issues comes from Allah.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud: The Prophet ﷺ used to supplicate: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka al-huda wa-t-tuqa wa-l-'afafa wa-l-ghina' (O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and contentment). And 'Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud) narrated from the Prophet ﷺ: 'Allahumma ahdini wa-hdili wa-rzquni rushdi' (O Allah! Guide me and guide for me and provide me with righteousness).
