يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ
O Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.
Ya muqalliba al-quloobi, thabbit qalbi 'ala deenika.
When to Read
This profound dua is most potent during the sacred hours of Tahajjud. As you stand before Allah in the stillness of the night, perhaps after reciting a portion of the Quran or engaging in other acts of worship, this is the perfect moment to turn to Him with this plea. The pre-dawn hours are a time when the veil between the servant and the Lord is thin, making supplications particularly impactful. Use it whenever you feel a need to reconnect, to strengthen your resolve, or to seek a deeper understanding and commitment to your faith.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincere intention and a humble heart. Focus on the meaning of the words: acknowledging Allah's absolute control over the hearts and earnestly asking for steadfastness. It's beneficial to raise your hands slightly, as was the practice of the Prophet ﷺ in supplication. Repeat it multiple times, especially if you are feeling weak in faith or facing trials that might waver your commitment. Let the words resonate within you, allowing them to become a genuine reflection of your inner state.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua directly addresses the most crucial aspect of our deen: the heart. A firm heart is the foundation of strong faith and consistent practice. By asking Allah to keep our hearts firm on His religion, we seek protection from deviation, doubt, and spiritual apathy. This supplication, when made during Tahajjud, leverages the immense spiritual merit of night worship. It is a proactive step towards ensuring our actions align with our beliefs and that our faith remains vibrant and alive, not just a surface-level acknowledgment.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say: 'O Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the entire creation, the Knower of the unseen and the seen, You judge between Your servants in that wherein they differ. Guide me to the truth concerning that wherein they differ, by Your permission. Indeed, You guide whom You will to a straight path. O Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the entire creation, the Knower of the unseen and the seen, You judge between Your servants in that wherein they differ. Guide me to the truth concerning that wherein they differ, by Your permission. I ask You in the same way that You asked You before You, O Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the entire creation, the Knower of the unseen and the seen, O my Lord, I ask You for the fulfillment of Your promise and Your covenant in my heart, and the ability to turn to You. I ask You for the best knowledge, and that the heart is pleased with the decree, and that the soul is content with Your destiny, and that we remember You much and thank You much. O Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the entire creation, the Knower of the unseen and the seen, O my Lord, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own self, and from the evil of Shaitan and his temptation, and from the evil of all the wicked ones, be they human or jinn.' It was also narrated from him that the Prophet ﷺ used to say: 'O Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.'
