اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.
When to Read
This dua is particularly powerful when recited during Tahajjud, the night prayer. The stillness of the night and the act of waking for worship create a conducive atmosphere for sincere supplication. Recite it after you have finished your Tahajjud prayers, as the time between midnight and Fajr is a blessed period for asking Allah for your needs, including the strength to overcome procrastination and the ability to accomplish your goals.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincere intention and conviction. Raise your hands as you do so, turning your palms upwards. Feel the weight of your procrastination and your desire for achievement as you ask Allah. Believe that He is Able to grant your request and will help you overcome your struggles. After reciting, make specific supplications for your goals and for ease in accomplishing them, asking Allah to remove the obstacles of procrastination from your path.
Virtues & Benefits
This comprehensive dua covers three essential aspects of a believer's life: beneficial knowledge ('ilman naafi'an) that guides you, goodly provision (rizqan tayyiban) that sustains you, and acceptable deeds ('amalan mutaqabbalan) that bring you closer to Allah. By asking for these, you are essentially asking Allah to grant you the tools and the ability to achieve your goals in this life and the hereafter. Overcoming procrastination is a crucial step towards performing deeds that are both beneficial and acceptable, making this prayer a cornerstone for personal growth and spiritual progress. The act of performing Tahajjud itself is a powerful means of drawing closer to Allah and seeking His assistance, making this period ideal for such a supplication.

Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to say when the night prayer was over: 'Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika, la ilaha illa Anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayka' (Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. There is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance). And when he recited the Quran, he would say: 'Allahumma - inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan' (O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds).
