اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ
O Allah, help me to remember You, to give thanks to You, and to worship You in the best manner.
Allahumma a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatika
When to Read
This is a powerful general supplication that can be made at any time, but it is particularly relevant when you are striving for consistency in any act of worship, including Tahajjud. Make it a habit to recite it after your obligatory prayers, or during your Tahajjud prayer itself when you are prostrating, or even just before sleeping, asking Allah to grant you the strength and ability to perform it.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and a focused heart. Understand that true consistency comes not from our own strength, but from the Tawfiq (success and guidance) granted by Allah. Raise your hands if possible, as is customary for making dua, and pour your heart out to your Creator, articulating your need for His assistance.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua directly asks Allah for the ability to perform His worship well. Consistency in Tahajjud is a sign of true devotion and a path to spiritual elevation. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this comprehensive supplication because remembrance, gratitude, and excellent worship are the cornerstones of a strong connection with Allah. By seeking His help for these three things, we are laying the foundation for steadfastness in all our good deeds, including the late-night prayers.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by Abu Bakr while he was praying and said: 'What is this?' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, this is something I have prayed.' He said: 'When you pray, you pray for yourself. When you are praying for others, perhaps you will be more pleased.' Then he passed by Umar while he was praying and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, this is something I have prayed.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Allah, help me to remember You, and to give thanks to You, and to worship You in the best manner.' (Allahumma a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatika).
