أُعِيذُكَ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ تَقِيًّا، وَرَشِيدًا، وَسَائِرَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ اللَّهُمَّ عَلِّمْهُ الْكِتَابَ، وَالْحِكْمَةَ، وَفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ، وَاجْعَلْهُ مُبَارَكًا عَلَيْهِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُعِيذُهُ بِكَ وَبِذُرِّيَّتِهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
I seek refuge for you with the perfect words of Allah from every devil and every beast, and from every evil eye. O Allah, make him righteous and of good judgment, and all the Muslims. My Lord, grant me from among the righteous. O Allah, teach him the Book, and wisdom, and make him understand the religion, and make him blessed upon him. O Allah, I seek refuge for him and his offspring from the cursed Satan.
U'iidhuka bikalimatillahit-tammati min kulli shaitanin wa haammah, wa min kulli 'ainin laammah. Allahumma-j'alhu taqiyyan, wa rashidan, wa sa'iral-muslimeen. Rabbi habli minas-salihin. Allahumma 'allimhul-kitaba, wal-hikmata, wa faqqihhu fid-deeni, waj'alhu mubarakan 'alayh. Allahumma inni u'iidhuhu bika wa bi-dhurriyyatihi minash-shaitaanir-rajeem.
When to Read
This dua is beautiful to recite right after the birth of a child, during the Adhan and Iqamah for the newborn, or anytime you wish to seek Allah's blessings and protection for your little one. It can be a daily practice to ensure your child is enveloped in Allah's care.
How to Read
Place your hand gently on the newborn's head or forehead while reciting. Speak with sincerity and conviction, visualizing Allah's protection surrounding your child. You can also blow gently onto the child after reciting, as was the practice of the Prophet ﷺ with his grandchildren.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to seek refuge for Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them) saying: "I seek refuge for you both with Allah's perfect words, from every devil and every poisonous creature, and from every evil eye." Then he would say: "Allah's curse be on the polytheists." (Sahih al-Bukhari 3371, Sahih Muslim 2708). When 'Abdullah bin Abi Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) told the Prophet ﷺ that he had married a noble woman and he had married a noble woman from the Ansar, the Prophet ﷺ asked: "Have you performed the ritual of marriage?" He said: "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ said: "May Allah bless you. May Allah bless you." (Sahih al-Bukhari 5134) When a person asked the Prophet ﷺ: 'Whose deeds are the best?' He replied: 'Whomsoever Allah enables to obey Him, and to remember Him often, and to be grateful to Him for His blessings, and to worship Him well.' (Tirmidhi 2917 - Hasan) Ibrahim (the son of the Prophet ﷺ) was born when the Prophet ﷺ was in Mecca, and he was one and a half years old when he died. The Prophet ﷺ said: "O Ibrahim, verily for every nation there is a resurrection, and for us there is a resurrection." Then he said: "O Allah, make him a man who will intercede for his people (on the Day of Resurrection)." (Part of a longer Hadith - narrated by Al-Bayhaqi and graded Hasan by some scholars). The Quranic verse 'Rabbi habli minas-salihin' (My Lord, grant me from among the righteous) is from Surah As-Saffat, Ayah 100. The general supplication for seeking refuge for one's offspring from Shaitan is mentioned in the Quran: 'And I seek refuge in You and His descendants from Satan, the outcast' (Al-Baqarah 2:36).
