أُعِيذُكَ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
I seek refuge for you with Allah's perfect words from every devil and every poisonous creature, and from every evil eye.
U'eezubika bikalimatillahit-tammati min kulli shaytanin wa hāmmatin, wa min kulli 'aynin lāmmah.
When to Read
This powerful dua is recited by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for his grandsons, Hasan and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them), when they were infants. Narrated Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them): The Prophet (ﷺ) used to seek refuge for Al-Hasan and Al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with them) saying: 'I seek refuge for you both with Allah's perfect words, from every devil and every poisonous creature, and from every evil eye.' Then he would say: 'Ibrahim (Abraham) (ﷺ) also used to seek refuge with Allah for his offspring (Ishmael and Isaac) with the same words.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 3308)
