Daily Morning Routine
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 785

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا.

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provisions, and deeds that are accepted.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

This beautiful dua is recited immediately upon waking up in the morning. It sets the tone for the entire day, asking Allah for blessings in our actions, sustenance, and understanding.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and conviction after waking. It's a personal supplication to your Creator, so speak from the heart. It's often said before other morning duas or actions.

Virtues & Benefits

This supplication encompasses three crucial aspects of a fulfilling life. Beneficial knowledge guides us to do what is right. Pure provisions allow us to live righteously and support our families without compromise. Accepted deeds are those done sincerely for Allah's pleasure, which are the only ones that truly benefit us in the hereafter. By asking for these, we are essentially praying for a day that is pleasing to Allah and beneficial to ourselves and others, fostering a spirit of generosity through righteous living and pure earnings.

Source & Authentication

Narrated by Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): Whenever the Prophet (peace be upon him) got up in the morning, he would say: 'O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is useful, sustenance that is pure, and deeds that are accepted.' (Sahih Muslim 785).
