Daily Morning Routine
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 7

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً.

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and deeds that are accepted.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

This beautiful dua is specifically recommended to be recited in the morning, right after Fajr prayer, before engaging in the day's activities. It sets a pure intention for seeking Allah's blessings in all your endeavors, from acquiring knowledge to earning sustenance and performing good deeds.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and focus. Raise your hands slightly if you are able, and direct your supplication to Allah alone. Visualize the meaning of the words as you utter them: asking for knowledge that benefits you, provision that is pure and lawful, and actions that are pleasing to Allah and accepted by Him. It’s often best recited before you start your regular morning tasks like getting ready, checking emails, or beginning your work.

Virtues & Benefits

Reciting this dua seeks three essential pillars for a blessed life: 1. **Beneficial Knowledge ('Ilman Nafi'an):** Knowledge that increases our understanding of Allah, His creation, and how to live according to His guidance. It's knowledge that guides us and leads to good. 2. **Good Provision (Rizqan Tayyiban):** This encompasses not just wealth, but also health, family, and all the good things Allah provides. 'Tayyiban' means pure, lawful, and wholesome. 3. **Accepted Deeds ('Amalan Mutaqabbalan):** The ultimate goal is for our efforts and worship to be accepted by Allah. This requires sincerity (ikhlas) and following the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. This comprehensive request ensures that your day is blessed from the outset, aligning your personal goals with Allah's pleasure.
