Daily Morning Routine
Sahih HadithSunan Abi Dawud 1522

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ

O Allah, assist me in remembering You, thanking You, and worshipping You in the best manner.

Allahumma a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatik

When to Read

This powerful dua is best recited just after Fajr prayer, as you are beginning your day. It sets the intention to conduct all your affairs, including your interactions with your spouse, with consciousness of Allah, seeking His strength to do what is right.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity, raising your hands slightly if you are able (as the Prophet ﷺ did for similar supplications). Focus on the meaning of each word: seeking Allah's help to remember Him constantly, to be grateful for His blessings (including your spouse), and to worship Him well, which encompasses fulfilling all your duties as a Muslim, including those towards your spouse.

Virtues & Benefits

This supplication is comprehensive. By asking Allah to help you remember Him, you are asking for guidance to be mindful of Him in your actions and words towards your spouse. Asking for help to thank Him means seeking the ability to appreciate your spouse and your marriage, recognizing these as blessings from Allah. The request for 'husni 'ibadatika' (worshipping You in the best manner) is a holistic plea that covers fulfilling all your obligations, including the rights of your spouse, which is a significant part of a Muslim's worship.

Source & Authentication

The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught his companions to say this supplication after every prayer. (Sunan Abi Dawud 1522, Sahih)
