Virtues & Benefits
This dua encompasses three vital aspects of a Muslim's life: beneficial knowledge that guides us, pure provision that sustains us, and most importantly, deeds that are accepted by Allah. Source & Authentication
‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) never omitted these supplications when he prayed in the morning and in the evening: 'O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion and my worldly affairs, for my family and my property. O Allah, conceal my faults and calm my fears. O Allah, guard me from in front of me and from behind me, from my right and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your greatness from being overwhelmed from beneath me.' He said: 'And when he prayed in the evening, he would say: ‘O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who possesses knowledge of the unseen and the visible, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, You are my Guardian in this life and the life to come. Cause me to die as a Muslim and join me with the righteous.' (Tirmidhi). Another hadith: Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: 'Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) prayed the morning prayer, he would say: O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provision, and deeds that are accepted.' (Ibn Majah).
