Dua for a Morning of Righteous Actions and Good Deeds

Daily Morning Routine
Hasan HadithSunan Ibn Majah 925

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan

When to Read

This is a powerful dua to recite just after waking up in the morning, before starting any daily activities. It sets the intention for the day, asking Allah to grant you the means and the acceptance to perform righteous actions.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and focus after Fajr prayer, or even before you get out of bed. Imagine the words entering your heart as you speak them. The intention (niyyah) behind the dua is as crucial as the words themselves.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encompasses three vital aspects for a fulfilling day in the sight of Allah: 1. **Beneficial Knowledge ('ilman nafi'an'):** Knowledge that guides you, increases your Taqwa (God-consciousness), and helps you distinguish right from wrong. 2. **Goodly Provision (rizqan tayyiban):** Sustenance that is pure, lawful, and sufficient, enabling you to live a life free from unlawful means. 3. **Acceptable Deeds ('amalan mutaqabbalan'):** Actions performed not just for show, but for the sake of Allah, with sincerity, and in accordance with His commands. This is the ultimate goal – deeds that are accepted by our Creator. By asking for these three, you are essentially requesting a day that is pleasing to Allah and beneficial for your Hereafter.
