Daily Morning Routine
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 4729

O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent Your blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. You are indeed the Praiseworthy, the Glorious. O Allah, send Your protection upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent Your protection upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. You are indeed the Praiseworthy, the Glorious.

This beautiful prayer can be recited as part of your morning routine, ideally right after waking up or as you prepare for the day. It sets a beautiful intention to begin your day with remembrance and love for our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, seeking Allah's blessings upon him and his noble household. This practice aligns perfectly with the Sunnah of remembering Allah upon waking and making sincere supplications for the day ahead.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and a heart full of love for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Focus on the meaning of the words, imagining Allah's blessings showering upon him. It's a prayer that can be recited aloud or silently, with conviction and hope for Allah's acceptance. Making this a consistent part of your morning ritual can profoundly shape your day's outlook.

Virtues & Benefits

Reciting the Salat al-Nabi (sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ) is a highly virtuous act. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself said: 'Whoever invokes a blessing on me once, Allah would bless him tenfold.' (Sahih Muslim 384). By starting your day with this, you are fulfilling a command of Allah and striving to follow the Sunnah, earning immense reward and drawing closer to the Prophet ﷺ and his intercession. It purifies the heart and makes the day blessed from its very beginning.

Source & Authentication

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Do not make my grave a place of festivity (celebration), but send blessings on me wherever you are, for your blessings reach me.' Sahih al-Bukhari 4729. Another narration states: 'The nearest people to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who invoke blessings on me the most.' (Hasan, Reported by Tirmidhi). The specific wording of the Salat al-Ibrahimiyyah, as found in Sahih al-Bukhari, is the most comprehensive way to send blessings.
